Continuous Outreach to Orphans

In continuation with her activity to permit young orphans to acquire basic education, SIRDEP has again offered some school material to 37 orphans in Momo and Mezam Divisions for the 2012-2013 academic year. The materials were made up of text books, exercise books, pens, pencils, uniforms, provision of birth certificates in collaboration in councils, bags and the payment of fees and registration for end-of-course exams for those in the final year (primary six). In the presence of their guardians, teachers and administrative authorities, SIRDEP expressed her determination to continue with the project though with very limited financial means.
Since 2007 SIRDEP has supported an average of 40 orphans per academic year and hopes to continue so long as the means provide. This has gone a long way to mitigate illiteracy especially amongst orphans – victims of HIV & AIDS and other pandemics.
